Welcome to Goldsand Bassmasters


Based in Louisburg, NC, we are a FLW federated fishing club. We fish an average of ten tournaments a year, not including the six man team we send to the regionals every year. We generally start each season at Hyco Lake to take advantage of the warm water discharge, but like to change things up from time to time! Among those tournaments each year, we generally (there is the word again!) take two trips 'down East' to the Roanoke and Chowan rivers. If you've never been, you don't know what you're missing!

The club is actively seeking new members, either boater or non-boater. Please use the contact form to get more information on how to join our club for the best, friendliest competition in the South. Our membership some from a wide area, from right here in Franklinton, to as close as Youngsville, NC and stretching out from there. Experience level ranges from rookie to old timer, with no one individual dominating the field. You still have our work cut out for us, though!

The $30 'pot' in each tournament is not necessary to fish, one could fish simply for points, bragging rights, or for the learning experience. A big fish pot is awarded as well. Speaking of tournaments, the club as a whole decides where we fish, how long we fish, and when. Everyone has an equal say in the matter. No seniority or 'old guard' here.

Each month, we hold a meeting in Franklinton. Wait! Don't start grumbling yet! Joe holds these meetings at his house. In his house is his kitchen, and well, I think you see where this is going. The man can cook. It's worth the entry price just for the food. We talk about fishing too, between bites
