Goldsand Bassmasters
Formed where the Blackwater and Nottoway rivers
merge, close to the NC/VA border. The Chowan river
is 50.6 miles long, ending when it dumps into the
Albermarle Sound, where it is almost two miles
wide.
Chowan is a tidal river, but the tide usually only differs by a foot or so between tides. Perhaps one of the best features for fishermen is the abundance of lily pads and Cypress trees lining the banks.
